The measurement

What is a GEO score?

A GEO score is a number from 0 to 100 that shows how ready a website is to be found and cited by AI engines. Zytet builds the score on 28 checks across 6 categories with fixed criteria and no AI in the judgement, so you can compare month to month and see what each fix was worth.

The number

What the number is, and what it is not

The score measures readiness. A new page can score high if the bot can read it, and a well-known page can score low if a firewall throws the crawler out. The number says nothing about how many people know you. It says whether you can be used as a source at all.

The 6 categories cover schema and structured data, AI crawler access, content and citation readiness, technical foundation, authority and trust, and visibility for search engines. The exact weights and criteria are in the report, which is part of the paid service.

Use

How to use the score

Treat it as a work list. Each point has a point value and a time estimate, so you start with what moves the score most. When you have changed something, run the check again. Because the criteria are fixed, the same page gives the same result until the page changes.

The first check is free. Ongoing history and the full manual come with the subscription from $49 per month plus tax.

Questions

Because the score does not measure Google rankings. It measures whether AI crawlers can fetch and use the page. A high ranking and a low GEO score can sit on the same domain.
